Sessiz Tını — Support
Sessiz Tını is a Turkish-language app for people who live with tinnitus. A short listening exercise helps you describe the character of the sound you hear and narrow down roughly where it sits in pitch. The app then shapes sound environments around that answer. Everything happens on your phone.
1.What this app is not
It is not a medical device, a hearing test or a diagnosis. The frequency it arrives at is your own best match during a short exercise on a phone, not a clinical measurement. It cannot tell you why you have tinnitus and it does not claim to remove it.
See a doctor, and do not rely on this app, if your tinnitus started suddenly, is only in one ear, pulses in time with your heartbeat, or comes with hearing loss, dizziness or ear pain. The app repeats this advice in its own When should you see a specialist? section.
2.What you need
- An iPhone or iPad running a recent version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Nothing else. There is no account, no sign-up and no server.
The app works with no network connection at all. Headphones make the listening exercise much more reliable, because a phone speaker cannot reproduce the quiet high tones it uses.
3.The listening exercise
First you choose the character of what you hear — a tone, a hiss, a buzz. Then the app plays short sounds and asks, each time, whether it is getting closer or further away. It narrows the range over at most eight taps, and deliberately checks whether you have landed an octave off, because that is the mistake people make most and narrowing alone cannot catch it. “I am not sure” is always an option and costs less certainty than a guess.
The result is shown with its own uncertainty. You can redo the exercise at any time from Profile; the app keeps what you answered rather than a fixed verdict about you, so a later run simply replaces the old one.
4.The sounds
Every environment is computed on the device as it plays — there are no audio files in the app. That is not a technical preference: one of the environments is shaped around your matched frequency, which the app only learns minutes before you listen, and no recording can do that. It also means sessions can run for as long as you like with no looping seam.
Mix lets you set the layers yourself. Night keeps playing with the screen locked. Please keep the volume low: masking works better quietly, and loud sound is bad for the ears you are trying to look after. The app has a Safe listening page on the Profile tab.
5.Tracking how you are
A one-tap daily check-in records how loud your tinnitus felt and what was going on — stress, a bad night, noise. After a few days the app starts pointing out patterns it can see. It says what it noticed, not what you should conclude.
6.Privacy
The app makes no network requests, has no account and sends nothing to us. See the privacy policy.
